Videos they were!
I may not know why this was done by Carey College, but whatever the reason was; I see it as a one way of using Multimedia for evangelism. But i suppose Tim will be in a good position to tell me why this was done if not for evangelism. Some of the other reasons I can think of meanwhile
- Yah, finding what tickles the society and using that! The Church will always follow as society leads
- Hey guys Carey Baptist exist- who does not want to be popular anyway
- It is just the in thing so we are not left behind
- and since we know what youtube is and how many people visit the site- we can explain what the Church is all about/ throw in a few apologies- this is a good one.

These are not so much "evangelism" as old-fashioned sales! I suspect to use YouTube for evangelism one would need some "hook" or approach that made the video interesting, amusing or entertaining quite apart from the message. In these videos the college is "preaching to the converted".
But the RIGHT video could be a fine evangelistic tool, just as many movies are good pre-evangelistic tools, and some "good" anti-evangelism ;-)
I get it now, 'preaching to the conveted'. I think it could be a good way too to 'teach the uncoverted'. Like tintroductory topics in Christianity like 'what is a bible'the maybe a topic on everybook of the bible
But like you say, on a site like YouTube it really got to be interesting! Make it like a drama, maybe short scens coz of the audience at hand.

ija, the thing about using video to teach the uncoverted, it leaves us with the question of how to get the uncoverted to the video. Some may not be interested in becoming Christians, some may ???
